WINSTON-SALEM, NC – - Autodrop Ltd. is partnering with Moore’s Springs Trails to promote a new cycling event combining twelve miles of off-road singletrack racing with a thirteen mile road loop that includes a finishing climb within Hanging Rock State Park. Called The Doubleshot, the race will be held on March 10, and will offer categories for solo female and male racers, as well as for relay teams. Moore’s Springs Trails are located near the base of Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, NC.
The inaugural event aims to raise capital for and awareness of the trail system while promoting the adventure-tourism potential of Stokes County, NC. The current trail, built to IMBA standards on public land, features approximately six miles of singletrack terrain. The promoters plan to donate 80% of race profits directly to the trail crews for continued trail development and renovations to the adjacent Moore’s Springs Campground.
“We try to create the kind of races we’d want to do – and then make them even better,” said Autodrop Ltd.’s Erich Grant. “This race will have a little bit of everything: a le mans start, beautiful singletrack, creek crossings, rolling hills and a Category 3 climb to finish the road loop.”
