Cycling Events for December 17-23
We hope all our cycling friends in the Carolinas and beyond are having a happy and safe holiday season. If you are trying to figure out what to get your favorite cyclist this year, check out some of Neil’s favorites in his Browne Eye Holiday Buyer’s Guide.
We had a blast watching the livestream webcast of Cross Nationals over the weekend. You may have heard Neil’s scream echoing over the mountains as he watched his friend Jeremy Powers fall out of contention on Sunday when he went down in the middle of the race. However, we celebrated the great results for our Carolina collegiate teams. Meanwhile here in South Carolina, Noah Metzler was killing it at the Va Du Mar cyclocross race.
You can read Neil’s interview with southeast racer, John Murphy, as he celebrated in his birthday at the BMC Racing Team camp in Spain.
This Sunday Mock Orange is hosting the next round of the NCCX series, Merry Crossmas, at Tanglewood Park in Winston Salem, NC. If you pre-register for the race you’ll be entered into a drawing for a pair of Shimano Ultegra tubeless wheels and a Bianchi singlespeed frame. Also if you buy a custom pint glass the promoters will donate five dollars to charity. The course is basically the same as last year with just a few minor changes.
Wednesday Nights Under the Lights training series continues in Jackson Park, Hendersonville.
