Wednesday Night CX Training Series in the Southeast

Wednesday night is time to brush up on your skills

It’s cyclocross time and Wednesday night is when you get get your ‘cross on. There are several weekly CX training races: Greenville Rec Series in Travelers Rest, South Carolina; the Renaissance Bicycles “Wednesday Will Bury You Series”; and the HCCX series which is being offered at three different locations as the season progress.

The Greenville Rec Series is located just off the Swamp Rabbit Trail behind Sunrift Adventures. The fun starts at 5:15 with a ‘cross skills clinic followed by an “A” and “B” category practice race at 6:00 and 6:35. While there is no charge, a five dollar donation would be appreciated with the money benefiting the new Gateway Park BMX pump track.

Fletcher Park in North Carolina plays host to the Renaissance Bicycles series. There are two races Wednesday evening: at 6:00 is the Category 4/3, Category 4 women and juniors and at 6:50 Category 1-3, Masters, Category 1 /2 Women. Not only are racers welcomed but the promoters are encouraging hecklers as well.

The HCCX Wednesday series in September is located at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina at 6:30. The course is modeled after the famous Roubaix course and includes a lot of technical sections and stairs.
